Lereh, Jayapura -Kitong Bisa Foundation (KBF) made a visit to Kampung Sebum, Kampung Lapua, and SMAN 1 Lereh to see firsthand the potential of cocoa and get to know more closely the conditions of the community and the younger generation in the region.
This visit is part of KBF’s efforts to understand the local potential that can be developed to support community empowerment. One of the concerns in the visit is the cocoa commodity which has the opportunity to be developed as a source of livelihood and economic strengthening of local communities.
Together with PT Sinar Kencana Inti Perkasa, KBF is exploring various potential development opportunities for cocoa in the Lereh region. This assessment is carried out by looking at the conditions and potential available at the community level, including development opportunities that can provide added value for farmers and open wider economic opportunities.
In addition to visiting the community and see the potential of cocoa plantations, KBF also visited SMAN 1 Lereh to meet with students. This visit is an opportunity to take a closer look at the educational environment as well as greet the younger generation which is an important part of the future of regional development.
For KBF, the development of regional potential cannot be separated from efforts to improve the quality of human resources. The potential of the local economy needs to go hand in hand with attention to education so that the younger generation has the opportunity to grow, develop skills, and contribute to the region.
Through this visit, KBF hopes that the exploration with PT Sinar Kencana Inti Perkasa can open collaboration opportunities that support the development of local potential in a sustainable manner. Synergy between various parties is expected to be able to present initiatives that meet the needs of the community and provide real benefits for the Lereh region.
