Jakarta -sustainable village development focuses not only on implementing programs, but also on how each process is able to create change and provide real benefits to the community. Departing from this spirit, Kitong Bisa Foundation (KBF) continues to take part in encouraging community empowerment through the integrated village Economic Transformation Program (TEKAD).
Sebagai bagian dari pelaksanaan program, KBF bersama International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) melakukan pembahasan Laporan Interim Pelaksanaan Program TEKAD. This report is a form of evaluation of the progress of program implementation, as well as a space to see the achievements, challenges, and strategic steps that need to be strengthened in the implementation of subsequent activities.
In its implementation, the TEKAD program prioritizes a household-based approach (PBRT) as an effort to understand the needs, conditions, and potential of the community more closely. This approach places households as one of the starting points for empowerment, so that program interventions can be adapted to the conditions and resources of the community.
Through mentoring and capacity building, this program is also directed to encourage communities to recognize and develop local potentials that can support improved welfare. Thus, people not only become beneficiaries, but also take an active part in the process of development and economic development in their region.
KBF Indonesia successfully implemented the determination program according to the Ministry of Health’s target in 4 districts, namely Yapen, Jayapura, Sarmi, and Keerom.
The discussion of the interim report with IFAD became an important momentum to review the course of the program, identify various learnings in the field, and ensure that the implementation of activities continues in accordance with the goals set. The results of the evaluation are expected to be the basis for developing more effective and sustainable follow-up steps.
For Kitong Bisa Foundation, Community Empowerment is a process that requires collaboration, mentoring, and understanding of local potential. Therefore, through involvement in the TEKAD Program, KBF is committed to continuing to support the strengthening of the capacity of rural communities to be able to develop their potential and create economic opportunities independently.
Therefore, meaningful development starts from the community itself. When local potentials are strengthened and communities are given room to grow, positive change can grow from households to bring wider impacts to the village.
